Shots for School

Mission: SHOTS...no body likes shots! Carson had to get one shot for school this week and he was such a big boy...no crying! Seriously awesome!! Praise the Lord! Mission: Completed!

Summer is almost over....crazy!

Just about twenty days left of summer before school starts....WOW! It has gone by soo quickly! Here are some pics from the past two weeks. Abgail's 3 months pictures....truly what a blessing she is! She is totally into watching her brothers these days...they make her laugh which is sooo cute! She is talking and cooing and letting us know how she likes things constantly. We got her a bumbo seat this week and she loves it! She really enjoys sitting in it and watching her brothers. She is not real sure about the exer-saucer....still a little too much work for this little princess! Andrew is still our little destroyer....he loves to destroy things....and does so very quickly! I keep telling him that when he grows up he just might be a demonlition man but he insists and I mean insists that he is going to be a choo choo driver. :) He loves to talk to Abigail. He calls her "my sweetie" which is adorable. She is still a little weary of him for she knows that at some point in thier "talk" she is more than likely going to get poked somewhere in the face. That is just the way it is :) Poor Abigail. Carson is our man of many plans these days....he wants to know a schedule for every week and then every day of the week and what it might consist of....what's after that Mommy? What is after that?...he continues to ask....I too used to be a planner, but three kidos has definately taught me to be much more flexible and spontaneous which Carson doesn't much care for these days :) I have finally figured out the key to a clean home and laundry caught up continuously....you have to stay home! Hmmm...sometimes that is not much fun, but necessary. Dustin will be on hospital rotation next month so we won't see him much...pooh. He is looking to do some sports medicine in Cushing this fall.....so we have all of thier football games on the schedule! Exciting! We should have our contract officially signed by the end of this week. We are looking at moving next year around May/June. A friend in our girl's ministry at church told me this week that she found out that another young couple from our church here in Tulsa is moving to....Cushing! Don and Juliann Helm. Exciting! I talked to them this week and actually the husband's parents live in Cushing now and are good freinds with Dr. and Mrs. Pyles. Dustin will be joining Dr. Pyles clinic in July of next year! We really like the Pyles. Yay! Go God! Super excited about that connection and look forward to getting to know them more. Thank you Lord for friends! It is so amazing to me how God always knows and takes care of our needs even before we ask sometimes!

Too fun tonight taking pictures in the park. Below is my sister Natalie and her son Peyton who is 6 months old! He did a fantastic job for the camera! Andrew however took two pictures and told us he was done!

Went to the park today to take some pictures of my sister Natalie's little boy Peyton and thought it was about time for Carson's five year old pic that I have had on the list to do for a couple of months now. :) Above post you will see that I attempted to get one of all three of my monkeys...not really expecting that I might capture them all happy...well two out of three is pretty good! :) Enjoy!

Yay!

Just two fun pics this week....Abigail loves to talk and interact especially with her big brother Carson. She just coos and laughs at him time and time again. So sweet. The second picture is just Andrew....we were on our way in the aquarium yesterday and he saw this coke truck....talk about exited he yelled, "Look Mom, that is my favorite truck....it says COKE!!!" He loves Coke...kind of strange...and Carson won't even try it! The highlight of his trip to the aqaurium this time was his picture with the Coke Truck....too funny! The Yay is for the email we got from the CEO in Cushing yesterday saying......"Welcome to Cushing". We have finally negotiated a great contract with Cushing and are super excited about what the Lord has in store for our ministry there. Dustin is wanting to do some sports medicine so we may be getting to be involved in all of thier football games this fall....fun....did I mention that we will not have to change colors in our wardrobe...The Cushing Tigers are orange and black! Ha! Truly, we are so thankful for the opportunity and rejoice in the wonderful blessing of a great contract and the mere confidence in knowing where we are going is exactly where God wants us to be! Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Dustin will actually be employed by the hospital there and will be working in a clinic with two christian doctors that are already doing medicine and ministry hand in hand right now with thier patients. So excited to see what a difference we can make for the Lord in the Cushing area! Yay God! Sorry I am not a very good blogger these days...time is so few and days are so short right now....please continue to pray for sweet Katie. She is having some difficulties and is on her way back to Dallas again. Thank you dear friends and family for lifting her up in prayer! Love to you all....Praising Him!

Update on Katie!

From Katie's Dad.....

Update on Katie—July 11thFast forward from my last update on July 8th. We are out of the hospital! God is so good!Katie was released from ICU on the 8th but did not get her own room until the 9th because there was no bed available. It was so good to be in her own room once there. Over the last couple of days, we watched the tubes and IVs disappear. The doctor said that once she could walk, eat and use the bathroom by herself, she was free to go. Wow! 4 days after a 15 hour brain surgery and you can leave!?! We will meet with the doctor again on Monday and then drive home to Tulsa Monday afternoon. We will come back to Dallas in a couple of weeks to get the stitches out and for a check-up.All of this sounds too easy…Katie is doing very well; however, she still has a long road of recovery. Increasing her stamina, regaining her balance, healing of her facial nerves, and adjusting to hearing loss in her left ear are still ahead. These are the little/big things that all will take time and patience for her.

We are thankful for:Katie’s successful surgery--Our neurosurgeon continues to say the outcome was very good. He also said the outcome could have been horrible. Comparing the MRI’s from before and after the surgery has given us a better understanding and thankfulness for the wonderful results that we have. Answered Prayer!!Great doctor and nursing care.--Our neurosurgeon spent at least 30 minutes with us each time he saw Katie—once or twice a day. Our ICU and floor nurses met every need. Many friends and family who visited us in the hospital--Several people made special trips from Tulsa to Dallas for the sole purpose of visiting Katie. Numerous phone calls and emails gave us supportMany, many, many prayers--We continue to be comforted by your prayers. Katie is comforted and God is answering your prayers for her healing. Specific prayer request:No short-term medical complications as we leave the hospital and come home. REST for her and Ann. (and me and Emily.) Increased stamina and balance for KatieWisdom as we and the doctors decide on the types of therapy needed for healing of her facial nerves and her hearing loss. Complete healing for Katie.

.…Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Heb 12:1 b

Kim Lee's Delightful Homeade Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe!

Okay so after so many requests I am sending a mass emial of the recipe for the most wonderful homeade chocolate chip cookies I have yet found.......from the Kitchen of Kim Lee. Enjoy!

1 1/2 sticks of butter (3/4c) or margarine softened

3/4 C of shortening

1 C Sugar

1 C Brown Sugar

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp vanilla

2 eggs

3 C flour

12 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips

6 oz package of milk choc chips (or butterscotch)

Preheat oven to 375F. Combine all ingredients except flour and choc chips. Stir until smooth (I don't use an electric mixer. I've found that it changes the consistency of the dough.) Add flour and mix completely. Then add choc chips.

Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake for 10-11 minutes.

**From Amanda's Kitchen.....okay so here's the scoop....using the medium cookie scoop from Pampered Chef (Plug for my mother-in-law....if you don't have one I know someone who you can order one from :) ) this recipe will make approx 48 cookies for arounf $6.00. I usually bake 12 and continue to scoop up the rest of the dough using the cookie scoop, put them on a plate and then put then in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Then I take them off the plate and put them into a freezer safe ziplock to store in the freezer. Then I can pull out cookies to bake from the freezer at anytime! I like my cookies not so browned so I bake them instead at 350F for about 14 minutes or so. Seriously yummy and not at all FAT FREE in any way! :) Enjoy!

A Trip to the Z...O....O

Carson took this one of me and Abigail...he is pretty good! :)
We took a trip to the Z..O..O this morning since it was only sapossed to be 91 degrees today! After a camel ride, carousel ride and the elephant show Mommy was hot enough to take our train ride and go home....which the train ride is allways thier most favorite part!!

Just Playing...

Just some fun pictures. Carson and I decided to be silly and play on the front porch with my camera on my phone this afternoon while Abigail and Andrew took a nap. This is the face that he allways gives me when I say smile....he thinks it is funny! I think that the summer has been a little too lax for Carson....he is my kind of scheduled man...he wants to know what we are doing everyday...every minute of the day. I think that the structure of pre-school in the afternoons has kind of helped gear him this way so I am trying to help him be more spontaneous and not have to know how exactly our day will be planned out....because quite frankly I have no idea. Boy do I love my little Carson Wayne!

Just Playing

Just some fun pics of our sweet little Abigail as we were playing this morning waiting for the boys to wake up. She has become so fun playing with these days....she has such an adorable little smile that just warms my heart. What a blessing she is! Speaking of blessings...boy do I love my husband! As I am in the midst of trying to stay disciplined to lose some baby weight and getting frusterated especially on Sunday mornings finding something to wear...My little Prince of a Husband just out of the blue says the sweetest things. He thinks I am beautiful....He loves me no matter how big my belly roll is....He loves me no matter if I have makeup on or not....He loves me no matter what mood I am in....it reminded me this weekend that even as much as my husband loves me and accepts me the way I am even more so I am loved by my heavenly father who absolutely adores me! What an awesome truth that is! I am fearfully and wonderfully made by a God that delights in me! Rejoice in that with me today!
Praising Him!
