This is how we roll...

We decided to talk a walk this evening and noticed the clouds rolling in. Just in case we grabbed the umbrellas and didn't make it down the hill before the flash flood rainstorm came. Just look at it coming down the hill.

The kids had a great time playing in the rain.
Claire played too but she didn't last that long before she got cold. Andrew said "Mom, this is awesome. For my next birthday can I have a rain party." Seriously, I could not make this stuff up. And I'm not sure how I would plan that out just right.

Well, showers for the night. Check.

Homeschool Art Project: Jesus

This was a fun project to end our lesson on the study of Jesus' name. The kids really enjoyed it and we all learned that Jesus name means the Lord saves and we are so thankful that He does!

Playing in the Rain...

Well, the kids heard it start raining and ran outside to get wet! What fun! We have had some rain showers just about every day this week and then sunshine. After the rain let up we went back outside to play in the puddles..I happened to grab the camera and join them.

Oh, the pure joy of a slushie...

There is a new kid in town...a new gas station: Speedway. And It. Is. Awesome. (according to the Cupp Kids) We went in today for a slushie treat. Promptly after all getting back in the car (and only spending a whopping $3.53) Andrew proclaimed, "When I turn 16 I am coming to Speedway EVERY DAY!"...to which Abby exclaimed, "This is the best day EVER!" (Well I don't know about that... but pure joy was there for sure in the form of a slushie...oh, the little things!)

We love these guys!

Yep, we do! Silly faces and all. Carson's baseball season is over and he had a lot of fun. He did a really great job this year hitting the ball (especially if his Dad was pitching to him!) Really fun that he was on the Royals team because Dustin was on a Royals team when he was a wee chap too.

Meeting with Shannon

Yesterday we were finally able to get together with Shannon. He is the man I met on the plane ride home from our visit with St.Claire Hospital in Kentucky back in October 2012. He told me all about what the Lord was doing with the Hands and Feet Project in Haiti on our plane ride home. I knew the Lord had very divinely ordained our seats. He is on the board of HAF and we have not seen him since then. Dustin has talked with and been with some of the other leaders but it was so good to see Shannon and hear what the Lord is doing in and through him and then share with Him where He is leading us. What is the Lord doing with HAF? Shannon told us that as of right now all 100 children are fully sponsored. They have willing sponsors waiting for children to sponsor! They also received a donation of $250,000 to build a second building to house more orphans at the Jacmel location. They are also currently building another building for orphans at Grand Guave. They now have a handful of college football teams that are fully sponsoring a child and taking football players down to love, help with building and serve the children. The Lord is also opening up great opportunity to speak with other teams as the word gets out. The cost of support for each child a month is $300. Most sponsors partner together and 10 sponsors support 1 child. We were so excited to hear all of this! We will be speaking at our Residency Retreat this coming weekend about what the Lord has laid on our hearts for structuring and planning 2 longer trips and 2 smaller trips to help care for the children medically there. We are praying there will be a great response and eagerness to be involved, We are currently looking at taking 8-15 medical and support staff the last of October-First of November of this year. I am so excited to see how the Lord works this all out! Please be praying with us for medicine and immunizations connections and support, willing hearts to serve, travel planning and provision, and financial resources to provide for the costs involved. Thank you for partnering together with us in prayer!

Fun in the Sun

Just a few pics of fun in the sun today! Today was a good day with Daddy being home so we ventured out to the lake!

So, the beach is fun but we do miss the pool a bit. Positives of the lake is we don't have to upkeep or pay for the pool but on the downside the state of Kentucky for some reason has not been notified that smoking is really not good for you and thus a lot of people smoke. The last two times we have gone to the beach at the lake some people have come and sat down right next to us just smoking away. It really is awful. I find myself missing the luxury and privacy of our pool in our home in Cushing but not the upkeep for sure. All in all it was a fun day in the sun!

Today is a Two-Fer: Father's Day and Carson's Birthday

Well, today didn't exactly go like we would have liked to but it is what it is. We had already celebrated Carson's Birthday with Mike in Cincy at Johnny Rockets but we decided to make a cookie cake today to celebrate the two-fer. Unfortunately Dustin was on call this weekend and we pretty much saw him a couple of hours this afternoon before he went back to the hospital to help deliver some more babies. At least it was long enough for him to join us for a quick trip to Wal-Mart for Carson to spend his birthday money. Carson decided on a razor scooter, remote controlled airplane and a Wii game. He was very excited! We had planned a big dinner of yumminess and cake and ended up enjoying it all without Dad. We sure missed him but hopefully tomorrow will be a better day! I can't believe our little Carson Wayne is 9 years old. Amazingness. I am really enjoying getting to share in learning with him and his curiosity. He is a great helper with the girls. He is the man of many noises...the boy can make the craziest, silliest, often times most annoying noises out of a number of different body parts. He has really enjoyed going fishing this year and this is my favorite picture of him. Oh how I pray that He will follow Jesus and be a fisher of men. Happy Birthday Carson Wayne! We sure love you!!
