Well last week was a really great week and I wanted to share some of the things that the Lord did. On Monday Dustin shared his testimony and the calling of his medicine practice here in Cushing to an older group of people from the church that we have been attending. Dustin has always wanted to work with a team doing some sports medicine. We were unsure as to how the Lord would work out an opportunity here in Cushing. We were told that another doctor in town had been working with the football team for a long time and was not very friendly to outsiders. The CEO of the hospital had been contacting other local towns to see if Dustin could help with their teams even though our hearts really desired to be here serving in Cushing. What could the Lord possibly do....at the end of his speech on Monday an older lady handed him a piece of paper with the Cushing Tigers Football Coach's phone number....the coach saw that Dustin was interested in Sports Medicine and wanted Dustin to call him!! Dustin called him later that evening and was asked to be the Team Doctor for the Cushing Tigers!! He is so excited...We are so excited and thrilled at this opportunity! Thank you Lord for providing! Tuesday night we hosted a fellowship for the Sunday School Class of adults and their families that we have been attending. It really blessed me to see the many families that came out to enjoy the evening of swimming and wiffle ball fun! The kids were such a joy to watch! In talking to the youth minister and his wife that night we found out that he is also helping with the football team this year coaching special teams. I can't help but think what is God going to do in the lives of these kids playing football this year. God has positioned for them a Coach, a Doctor and a Youth Minister that love the Lord and desire nothing more than for them to know God more! Exciting! We really have been blessed to get to know the hearts of the youth minister and his wife here. The have such a beautiful passion for the Lord and discipleship. We are praying over where the Lord would want us to serve and are excited about the possibility of serving alongside of them. Abigail started walking this week! She is such a funny girl. One day she just let go of the couch and walked about 12 steps! She was so proud of herself! Walking at 15.5 months! She is getting more and more brave and taking longer walks but she really likes to fall down and say, "Uh oh". Too cute! The little Cupparoo is getting bigger and bigger...this week it is the size of a peach! This weekend was the first weekend that Dustin was on-call at the Hospital here. It really was not bad at all! He was able to be with us between calls and that was so nice! Small town call is great compared to Image Call. Thank you Lord! On Sunday we joined the church we have been visiting and praying about for the past six weeks, First Baptist Church Cushing. We are very excited about what God is going to do and how He is going to use us and grow us in the coming year! The youth minister has already asked us to pray about teaching the youth seniors class this coming year. We are overwhelmed at God's goodness and that He would continue to bless us with such opportunities to serve Him. Sometimes I feel so unworthy and unequipped for the tasks that He lays ahead of us and yet He continues to remind me that He is not interested in my ability but my availability. He so desires to show me all that I am capable of if He is working through me. I love that about my Lord! Thank you Lord that I can do all things through you! It has been a great week and we are thankful for all the the Lord has done and continues to do in our lives. To God be the Glory!!
Praising Him!
